Bruised and bloodied!

The VEEP debate took us back to the days of the romans, and the gladiators. A young energetic challenger versus a seasoned, battle hardened veteran. Did I say gladiators, hmm I guess greek gods would have been better. What a titanic clash. The earth and the stars shook. Sparks a plenty. This was the thought that went through my mind. If only cheney was not so morally wrong on his priorities, he would make one of the best leaders, the world will ever see. Unfortunately he is darth vader. As yoda would have put it. The cloak of the dark side heavily hangs surely! not knows he, shame a jedi noble would he make.
Well edwards, like luke skywalker, fortunately got away with maybe just a lost limb or two. Facing darth vader and coming out alive, especially for a novice like him is no mean acheivement.
More skilled combatants like joe lieberman were clobbered by cheney before. Maybe thats when the dark side got into liberman, well thats a different story for another day.
Edwards skywalker, walked out alive and kicking, not bad at all, in the process he scared the living daylights of cheney, but didnt quite expose the force that much as he should have. Maybe 2012 (2008 if the other john goes to the john in the next two debates) would see a more ready eddie!
A tie on technical (substance) points, A resounding victory for the VEEP if you count the body blows... superior attacking verbal skills.
But the overall winner is the veiwing public (read political junkies). It was christmas night for such folks like yours truly!
